Before the Procedure

The Night Before Your Procedure:
Please do not eat or drink anything after midnight on the evening before your scheduled procedure, unless otherwise instructed by your physician.
If you are taking medications for high blood pressure, asthma, diabetes or seizure disorders, contact your physician for additional instructions.
Medications and anesthesia may be harmful for a fetus, especially during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. If there is a possibility of pregnancy, please contact your physician’s office prior to undergoing any procedure.
Notify your doctor of any changes in your health or if you have been exposed to any communicable diseases.
Please discuss the risks of tobacco use with your physician prior to undergoing any procedure.
Some Important Information:
The surgical process begins with the pre-certification of your procedure which is handled by your surgeon’s office.
You must sign a consent for surgery so that you fully understand the planned procedure.
A history & physical examination is required and cannot be performed more than 30 days prior to your procedure.
Pre-admission testing (PAT) will be ordered if necessary by your physician, who determines what tests or consultations you will require to safely prepare you for your procedure. These tests can be performed at any lab testing center.

You will either complete your medical history assessment on-line through our secure electronic portal or be contacted by phone prior to your scheduled procedure to review your medical history and medications.
You will receive a call/text prior to surgery indicating your arrival time at Integrated Surgical Institute.
